Grilled Sweet Potatoes

There’s something about food fresh off the grill that’s so appealing. These sweet potatoes, for example, require minimal seasoning and effort—the grill does all the work. The result is a flavor-packed side dish, ideal to serve with Grilled Pork Chops and Grilled Sweet Corn.

Makes 6 servings


  • 2 tbsp melted butter
  • 2 tbsp olive or canola oil
  • 1 tsp grated gingerroot
  • Pinch of salt
  • 6 sweet potatoes, cut lengthwise into quarters


In a small bowl combine melted butter, oil, gingerroot and salt; stir well. Brush the sweet potatoes with oil mixture and grill on an uncovered grill over medium heat 7 to 8 minutes or until tender. If desired, cut into bite-size pieces before serving.
