Double-chocolate buttercream hits everyone’s sweet spot—particularly when topping Chocolate-Spice Cupcakes. Or use this velvety frosting for any sweet treat that needs a chocolate finish.

Ingredients

  • ½ cup butter, softened
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 tbsp milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 oz unsweetened baking chocolate, melted and cooled
  • 4 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder

Directions

  1. In a small mixing bowl beat butter, powdered sugar, milk, vanilla, melted chocolate and cocoa powder with an electric mixer on low for 30 seconds. Beat on medium 1 minute more or until smooth and creamy.
