Watermelon salsa and pita chips

Watermelon Salsa

Watermelon may be an unexpected ingredient in salsa, but it’s a welcome one. Here it is paired with kiwifruit, red onion and jalapeño for a little kick.

Makes 16 servings


  • 2 cups diced watermelon
  • 2 kiwifruits, peeled, sliced and quartered
  • 1 cup diced strawberries
  • ½ cup diced red onion
  • 1 jalapeño pepper, seeded and diced*
  • Juice of 1 lime
  • Salt, to taste


In a medium bowl combine all ingredients. Serve with baked pita chips.

*Note: Chile peppers contain volatile oils that can burn your skin and eyes. When working with jalapeños, wear protective gloves.
