Fruity Granitas
No fancy equipment needed to make these fruit juice-based refreshers. Swirl juice, fruit and ice in a blender and freeze in a pan.
Makes 8 servings
Ingredients
- 1 sliced fresh fruit (mango, strawberries or kiwi)
- ½ fruit juice or soda (strawberry soda, peach lemonade, or pink lemonade)
- 8 to 10 cups crushed ice
Directions
- Place fruit and juice in a blender. Cover and blend until pureed. Add ice cubes and blend until smooth. Spread mixture into an 8x8-inch metal baking pan. Freeze for 2 hours. Remove from freezer and scrape mixture with a metal fork, breaking up any large chunks, to form icy flakes. Freeze for an additional 2 hours before serving.
