Chai Tea Chillers

Freeze sweetened spicy chai tea into cubes and pour in milk for a winter-flavor treat. The cubes slowly dissolve, and the flavor evolves as you sip.

Makes 4 servings

Ingredients

  • 2 cups water
  • 6 chai tea bags
  • ⅓ cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 4 cups 2% reduced-fat milk
  • Cinnamon sugar, optional

Directions

  1. In a small saucepan bring water to boiling; remove from heat. Add tea bags and steep for 5 to 7 minutes. Remove tea bags. Stir in brown sugar. Cool.
  2. Stir vanilla into tea mixture. Pour mixture into an ice cube tray. Freeze 4 hours or until firm.
  3. For each serving, place 4 chai ice cubes in a 10-ounce glass. Pour 1 cup milk over cubes. Let stand about 5 minutes or until cubes begin to melt. Stir before serving. If desired, sprinkle with cinnamon sugar.
