Frozen Fruit Cups

Pull these fruit cups out of the freezer and let thaw into slushy treats before serving.

This is an easy treat to make and is a good recipe for children to help prepare. Simply mix canned fruit, frozen berries and sliced bananas in a large bowl. Spoon into freezer-safe glasses, add the sauce and freeze.

Makes 12 servings

Ingredients

  • 1 (29-ounce) can sliced peaches in juice, drained (reserving juice)
  • 1 (20-ounce) can pineapple tidbits in juice, drained (reserving juice)
  • 1 (6-ounce) bag frozen whole strawberries, partially thawed and sliced
  • 4 bananas, peeled and sliced
  • ½ cup sugar

Directions

  1. In a large bowl combine peaches, pineapple, strawberries and bananas. Spoon mixture into twelve freezer-safe 8-ounce serving glasses.
  2. In a medium saucepan combine 1 cup of the reserved peach juice, all of the reserved pineapple juice and the sugar; discard remaining peach juice. Bring mixture to boil; remove from heat. Spoon juice mixture over fruit in each cup. Cover and freeze 4 hours or until firm.
  3. Before serving, allow cups to thaw at room temperature 45 minutes or until slushy.
