40 Verses to Celebrate Easter

Celebrate the goodness of God by reading one Bible verse (NIV) for the 40 days of Lent leading up to Easter morning.

For Christians around the world, Easter is a highly anticipated celebration. Many of us will plan a menu for a delicious Easter dinner or brunch, dye and decorate Easter eggs, attend church in our Sunday best and spend time with family and loved ones—all to honor Jesus’ death and Resurrection. In the midst of the joyful celebration, it’s important to take time and quietly reflect on the significance of Christ’s sacrifice for us.

26. 1 Peter 1:18–19

“For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your ancestors, but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect.”
