40 Truths About Your New Life In Christ

The radical changes and new status we gain at the moment of salvation are not often understood. The simple act of believing in Christ changes more than we comprehend or can truly appreciate. It literally changes our eternity. Read these truths to transform your mind (see Romans 12:1, 2).

Our New Reality

  1. We are a New Creation:
    1. We are born again, John 3:3–7.
    2. We are a new creation in our spirit and heart, 2 Cor. 5:17, Gal. 6:15.
    3. The Holy Spirit transforms our minds, Romans 12:2.
    4. When Christ returns, we gain a new body, Phil. 3:21, 1 John 3:2.
  2. Jesus becomes our savior and Lord, Luke 2:11, 2 Peter 3:18.
  3. We become children of God, John 1:12–13, Eph. 1:5.
  4. We become God’s heirs, Gal. 3:29, Romans 8:17.

  6. We become part of a royal priesthood before God, 1 Peter 2:9–10.
  7. We are given spiritual gifts by the Holy Spirit, 1 Cor. 12.
  8. We know God hears our prayers when we pray in His will, 1 John 5:14.
  9. God will give us wisdom, James 1:5–6.
  10. God forgives and cleanses us from sin, 1 John 1:9.
  11. The Holy Spirit produces fruit in our lives, John 16:5–15, Gal. 5:22–23.
  12. God gives us purpose and ways to express it, Isaiah 55:11, Matt. 28:19.
  13. God disciplines us as children because He loves us, Deut. 8:5, Heb. 12:5–10.

Our Future

  1. We share in Christ’s righteousness, having been given eternal life, Titus 3:5, John 10:28.
  2. Christ prepares a place for us to dwell with Him, John 14:2–3.
  3. We will reign with Christ; we are seated in heavenly places. Eph. 2:6–7.
  4. We will be like Christ, 1 John 3:2, 2 Peter 1:4.
  5. We are assured victory, Phil 1:6, 1 Cor. 15:57.
  6. We are given an incorruptible inheritance, 1 Peter 1:3–5, Col 3:24.
